Complete setup guide to get your Akomi account ready in minutes. Provide credentials for your EMR and insurance portals to start automating prior authorizations.
Akomi submits your prior authorizations through the same portals that your staff uses today, just like a human would. Akomi also accesses your EMR in the same way a human would to collect the necessary demographic and clinical information. For this reason, Akomi requires login credentials for each of your portals and your EHR.
Someone from Akomi’s customer success team can collect credentials from you, or you can input them into your Akomi account yourself. Please use the email and phone number provided by Akomi for all account creation.
Akomi requires access to your EMR to collect the necessary demographic and clinical information. Please ensure that you provide sufficient access to allow Akomi to:
View patient demographics and encounter data
View and download both locked and unlocked progress notes
View and download other documents in the patient’s chart
Depending on your payer mix and the different procedures you authorize in your practice, Akomi may need access to some, all, or additional portals beyond those listed below.
Please use the email and phone number provided by Akomi for all account
creation.
Log into Availity using your administrator account.
On the top bar, select More’ ’

When granting access, provide access to the Authorization & Referral
Inquiry and Request modules.
Use the email and phone number provided by Akomi for account creation.
Carelon
Follow this guide for initial account creation with Carelon. Note: Carelon requires an internal email from your practice. Akomi email addresses will not be accepted or approved by Carelon. Therefore, we will require an internal email address from your practice to create the Carelon account.
Complete and submit the application. Carelon typically requires 1-3 business days to approve the account.
Evicore
Only create an account for your practice if you currently do not have an Evicore account.
If your practice already has an Evicore account, Akomi’s operations team will create our own account.
Register using your One Healthcare ID (the same ID used for United Healthcare). Wellmed will need to approve the account creation.
Wellmed requires payer approval. Once your account is approved, notify the Akomi team so we can create our own account.
For Akomi to create an account, we require the Wellmed account administrator’s information. Please provide their full name, title, email, and phone number (including extension) to the Akomi team. Once the Akomi account is created, the TIN administrator will need to approve access.
Evolent
If your practice has already been onboarded to Evolent, Akomi can create its own credentials.
If you’re registering with Evolent for the first time, follow these steps:
Visit the Evolent Portal to begin the registration process.
Complete the application form following the instructions in this image. Note: In the application, the Supervisor information must be different from the new user’s information, even if the supervisor does not have an account.
You will receive an email with a link to confirm your account.
Once you confirm your account, notify Akomi’s customer success team to create the credentials.
